Clearlake Police officers responded at 1:15 a.m. Tuesday to a possible assault in the area of Old Highway 53 and Clement Drive. When officers arrived they found a victim of a stabbing, a white male adult in his 30s, lying off the side of the roadway. The victim was transported to Saint Helena Hospital Clearlake where he was pronounced dead upon arrival.
Investigative leads developed by the first officers on scene and by detectives assigned to the case have resulted in the arrest of Shannon Lee Edmonds, 35, and Melvin Dale Norton, 34, for homicide. Detectives from the Clearlake Police Department, along with investigators from the Lake County District Attorney”s Office, are currently in the process of serving search warrants and collecting additional evidence. The name of the victim will be released by the Coroner”s Office at the appropriate time.
