LAKEPORT ? Lakeport fire took a man to Sutter Lakeside Hospital after a collision between him in his Ford Mustang and a woman in a Mercury Mountaineer SUV about 12:30 p.m. Tuesday on Lakeport Boulevard and Highway 29, Lakeport Police (LPD) said.
Lt. Brad Rasmussen said he is unsure if either driver is in the hospital and could not release their names. A passenger in the Mustang was not injured.
Police diverted traffic from the Lakeport Boulevard and southbound Highway 29 onramp for about 45 minutes, Rasmussen said. Police are still investigating the cause of the collision, he said.
Rasmussen said collisions in the area are not uncommon, especially at lunchtime near the restaurants.
