KELSEYVILLE — St. Helena scored with time running out in the second half to tie the Kelseyville Knights 2-2 in a North Central League I interlock varsity boys” soccer match on Tuesday in Kelseyville.
With three players out injured, the Knights (3-1-1) were trying to hold off the Saints in the final minutes but confusion on defense allowed St. Helena to tie the score.
“A game we should have won,” Kelseyville coach Eduardo Ledesma said. “We lost our composure a little bit near the end.”
Kelseyville led 2-0 after the first half on a penalty kick by Oscar Martinez and a corner kick by Salvador Mendez.
Kelseyville standouts were Glenn Mostin and Jesse Arroyo, according to Ledesma.

Willits 7, Clear Lake 2
At Lakeport, Juan Alvarado scored one goal off a free kick and assisted on another as the Clear Lake Cardinals fell to the Willits Wolverines.
Joey Blair had the other goal for Clear Lake (0-3).
“Juan played a good game,” Clear Lake coach Chris Cortez said. “He played out to the sides and was spreading out the field, which is what we need to do,” Cortez said.
