LAKE COUNTY — Are you talented? Do you want a showcase for that talent? Did you ever look at American Idol and say to yourself, “We”ve got people around here that are as good as that … and one of them is me.”
Well, if you sing, dance, play an instrument, do dramatic readings, tell jokes, do skits or anything else that is even borderline entertaining, this unique talent show wants you.
Lake County Theatre Company (LCTC) is getting ready to roll out a brand-new talent show that will be presented Nov. 13, 14 and 15 in Weaver Auditorium at the Lower Lake Historic Schoolhouse Museum. The show will be called “The World Is Talented (TWIT).” The name may give you a hint that this talent show will be entirely unique.
Although the name is a bit different, LCTC is holding very serious auditions for the very best talent in Lake County. The first audition was held on Wednesday at the Kelseyville Community United Methodist Church.
The second audition is from noon to 3 p.m. Oct. 3 in Weaver Auditorium.
Acts should be one to three minutes in length, provide their own accompaniment if that is needed and be close to performance ready. Electronic accompaniment is accepted. Eligible ages are 11 years and older.
LCTC is really looking for new talent of all kinds (We know you”re out there). The plan for this show is fun.
There will be few group rehearsals, much audience participation, true appreciation of talent and strange additional participants that can not be adequately described here. Your mission, should you accept it, is to pull together your talent and get it out there where it can be seen. For more information, call 928-5094.
