LAKEPORT ? A woman passed off a counterfeit $100 bill Wednesday night at the Asian Dragon in Lakeport, police said.
Lakeport police could not release the name of the suspect as they are investigating the case, Lt. Brad Rasmussen said. Police made contact with the suspect but she may not have been arrested.
About 8:30 p.m. the Clearlake Club bartender called police because a woman tried to use a counterfeit $100 bill, Rasmussen said.
“Because the bartender recognized the bill as being counterfeit at that time, the female left the bar with the bill,” Rasmussen said.
A woman then succeeded in using a counterfeit bill at the Asian Dragon, Rasmussen said.
