Early on the morning of Sept. 23 I called the sheriff”s office because I saw what seemed to be an abandoned vehicle on the side of Keys Blvd. in Clearlake Oaks. It was pulled into the ditch and the driver”s door was standing wide-open. The dispatcher I reached told me that I should be calling some department in charge of towing and that they would be out there to tow it away.
When I mentioned to him that perhaps the sheriff”s department may want to check it out in case there could be a dead body in the trunk, he reluctantly asked if I had a license number. I gave him a full description of the car, including the license number. Another fine example of how this department takes their job seriously!
