LAKE COUNTY ? In order to protect more than 1,500 acres of Mount Konocti, Lake County is searching for representatives to serve on a master management plan committee.
The county started accepting applications Tuesday for committee members who will develop a master plan with policies and procedures for the eventual day-use county park with non-motorized trails, according to a county press release.
The park is scheduled to open in spring 2010. The committee needs to develop at least a draft master plan by then.
The county will appoint representatives by the end of October with the first committee meeting in November.
The committee needs representatives from: recreation users; a fire management specialist from CalFire and another from the Kelseyville Fire Protection District; an environmental tribal representative; a flora and fauna specialist with a degree in biology, botany or related field; the Bureau of Land Management; a Land Trust, Sierra Club or Redbud Audubon Society member; Countywide Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee member; a seller”s representative and a member of the Public Services Department.
