LAKE COUNTY ? Armed men dressed in law enforcement attire who claimed to be Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) agents raided a marijuana grow in Lake County, the sheriff”s office reported.

Capt. James Bauman of the Lake County Sheriff”s Office could not release details including time and place as the department investigates the case, he said in a press release.

Other marijuana growers in Northern California have reported “phony law enforcement raids involving the theft of marijuana by impersonating law enforcement officers and mocking their tactics,” Bauman said.

“There was no violence or injury to the victim in the phony raid in Lake County,” Bauman said. “However, those engaged in the cultivation of marijuana, whether legally or illicitly, are advised to be mindful of the incidents.”
