Kudos to Guff Worth for his Sept. 26 letter titled “Too soft on inmates.” I wholeheartedly agree, but let”s go one step further. How about the guy who, in cold blood, murdered his fourth wife while he was on parole for murdering his second wife. What happened to wives one and three? Now they want to bring him back to Lake County to try him for the murder of wife four. Why waste our taxpayers” dollars on another expensive trial if he”s just going to get paroled again? Why not just revoke his present parole and make it a condition that he cannot marry again. And, oh yes ? no guns allowed this time, either.

As far as “cruel and inhumane” goes, the French solved that problem years ago with the guillotine. As long a time as it was in existence, it cannot be considered unusual and as fast as it is, it certainly is not cruel or inhumane. And why not televise the executions to act as a deterrent to other murderers. But wait! How about those who kill or rape children? Let”s exempt them from the death penalty and give them life in prison without possibility of parole and tell all the other inmates what they did.
