Common sense government sounds like an oxymoron, but it is what our Founding Fathers worked hard to create when they wrote the constitution. They chose the American eagle to represent the whole of the people.

The problem-solving wing of compassion, sensitive to the unfulfilled needs of the people was on the left and the analyzing wing on the right, determining fiscal soundness and maintaining personal freedoms. Their goal, even then, was to keep both wings of the eagle balanced in order for it to soar forward and upward, centered.

The job of Congress is to steer this eagle by keeping it centered, providing fiscally sound and morally strong government. This Congress is not mediating, meeting in the middle or even listening to the other side. They are so divided, so concentrated on their own party”s interests and so convinced of their own agendas that this eagle is so unbalanced, it is spiraling out of control.
