FORT BRAGG — The Fort Bragg Timberwolves geared up for their big North Central League I North showdown with Middletown by pummeling the Lower Lake Trojans 49-0 in the league opener for both teams Friday night in Fort Bragg.
Fort Bragg (1-0, 6-0) returned the opening kickoff for a touchdown and rolled to a 42-0 halftime lead against Lower Lake (0-1, 1-5).
A running clock was used in the second half.
Fort Bragg also won the junior varsity game 20-14.
Individual statistics were not reported to the Record-Bee.
Next up for the Timberwolves are the 5-1 Middletown Mustangs next Friday in Middletown.
Lower Lake returns home next Friday to play the Kelseyville Knights (0-1, 2-4), who were upset 20-16 by Willits in their North opener.
