CLOVERDALE — The Clear Lake Cardinals opened their North Central League I South schedule with a 28-0 victory over the Cloverdale Eagles on Friday night during junior varsity football action at Cloverdale.
Steven Edwards rushed for 100 yards and two touchdowns as the Cardinals improved to 4-2 overall. Omar Vasquez added 66 yards, Brendan McQueen had 39 and James McGann 33 for the Cardinals.
McGann and Kenny Henninger rushed for a touchdown apiece.
Clear Lake”s defense was led by McGann with five tackles, Travis Helton with four tackles, including two sacks, and Vasquez with four tackles. Michael Reynolds had a sack and Vince Rave intercepted a pass.
