Those of us who live in Lake County enjoy our own varieties of wildlife and, for many of us, it is one of the major reasons we enjoy living here. Perhaps one of the reasons we do not have a sense of urgency about climate change is that our population is sparse compared to others in Northern California and our climate is mild most of the year.
But this emergency is about the planet, not just our little corner of it. Look at the wild salmon situation, for example, and then imagine this happening to every single form of wildlife we currently have. In a short decade or two we will have lost precious and irreplaceable wonders of nature.
