SONOMA COUNTY ? Officers arrested another Sonoma County resident about 9 a.m. Tuesday on suspicion of attempted murder of the Lakeport man who was hogtied and shot in October at his home.

Lake County Sheriff”s Major Crimes Unit and Sonoma law enforcement arrested Joshua Wandry, 35, of Rohnert Park and booked him into the Sonoma County Jail, Capt. Jim Bauman of the Lake County Sheriff”s Office said in a press release.

Wandry and Thomas Dudney of Santa Rosa allegedly shot, beat and hogtied Ronald Greiner on Oct. 20 at the Lakeport man”s home on South Main Street behind the Record-Bee building.

Bauman expects Wandry to be charged with the same crimes as Dudney. Dudney is charged with attempted premeditated murder, aggravated mayhem, torture, simple mayhem, home invasion robbery in concert with another, first-degree burglary, assault with a firearm, assault with a blunt force object, assault likely to produce great bodily injury and serious battery.

Three of the charges against Dudney carry a life sentence. Special allegations that great bodily injury was inflicted and use of a firearm accompany Dudney”s charges.

Other suspects in the case may be at large, Bauman said.

“Additional arrests are expected to be made as the investigation continues,” Bauman said in the press release.

Investigation during the last two weeks led officers to identify Wandry as an additional suspect and secure a $750,000 arrest warrant, Bauman said. Lake County officers worked with the Sonoma County Sheriff”s Department and the Rohnert Park Police Department to arrest Wandry at his home on Adrian Drive in Rohnert Park and search his house, which they did without incident.

During Dudney”s preliminary hearing Tuesday, Deputy David Fidjeland of LCSO testified about Greiner”s injuries as a licensed EMT paramedic. On Monday, Fidjeland spoke with Dr. Brian Schmidt, the chief of trauma at Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital who treated Greiner.

Greiner had a serious point-blank gunshot wound to the upper right chest and a gunshot to the left abdomen at the bottom of his rib cage, which didn”t penetrate past the skin and was not serious, Fidjeland said.

Both of Greiner”s orbital bones around the eyes were broken, as well as his nose, cheek bones, jaw, skull and ribs, Fidjeland testified Schmidt said.

Greiner had cuts on his ears, lip and five others on his head, Fidjeland said. He had blood in his knee and severe rope burn to his wrists and ankles.

One of Greiner”s eyes will be severely and permanently disfigured, Fidjeland said. Greiner”s head injuries could cause delayed brain injury syndrome, which could lead to permanent brain damage.

“He said, ?Mr.Greiner would have died from these injuries,”” Fidjeland said of Schmidt”s report.

Deputy Carla Hockett of the LCSO also testified in Dudney”s preliminary hearing. She said she arrived at the scene and found officer Jim Bell of Lakeport police trying to untie Greiner, who was hogtied and bloody lying on the ground outside his house.

“While we were trying to cut him loose he stated they kicked his door in and had taken his marijuana,” Hockett said.

Hockett found marijuana “strewn about on the floor” inside Greiner”s house, she testified.
