SONOMA COUNTY ?Sheriff”s officers arrested a Windsor woman who was hiding in a Santa Rosa closet about midnight Wednesday, the third suspect taken into custody on suspicion of attempted murder of a Lakeport man.
The Sonoma County Sheriff”s Department found Deborah James holed up in a Santa Rosa home, arrested her and transported her to the Lake County Jail where she was booked on a $100,000 warrant, Capt. Jim Bauman of the Lake County Sheriff”s Office stated in a press release.
Thomas Dudney, Joshua Wandry and James allegedly shot, beat and hogtied Ronald Greiner, 49, on Oct. 20 at the Lakeport man”s home on South Main Street behind the Record-Bee building.
Lake County District Attorney Jon Hopkins said he charged James, 46, with attempted murder, home invasion robbery in concert with another and first-degree burglary. Special allegations that a principal was armed with a firearm in commission of the offense accompany the charges.
Dudney, 59, and Wandry, 35, are charged with attempted premeditated murder, aggravated mayhem, torture, simple mayhem, home invasion robbery in concert with another, first-degree burglary, assault with a firearm, assault with a blunt force object, assault likely to produce great bodily injury and serious battery.
Three of the charges carry a life sentence. Special allegations that great bodily injury was inflicted and use of a firearm accompany the charges.
Lake County Sheriff”s detectives continued their investigation to find suspects and interview Sonoma County witnesses Wednesday.
Sonoma County Sheriff”s Department contacted a man Wednesday night they believe to be James”s boyfriend at his home in Santa Rosa and found her hiding there.
About 9 a.m. Tuesday, the Lake County Sheriff”s Major Crimes Unit, the Sonoma County Sheriff”s Department and the Rohnert Park Police Department arrested Wandry at his home on Adrian Drive in Rohnert Park. Officers booked him into the Sonoma County Jail.
Wandry requested to see a judge in Sonoma County and may try to make bail there before he can be transported to the Lake County Jail, Hopkins said.
Officers arrested Dudney near his home in Fulton the day after Greiner was found hogtied. Dudney remains in custody at the Lake County Jail after his preliminary hearing and will appear in court Nov. 16.
Investigation with the support of Sonoma County authorities during the last two weeks helped Lake County detectives to identify suspects, Bauman reported.
“The investigation continues and additional arrests are anticipated,” Bauman said in the press release.
