I question those people who have decided that now is the time to open a new business. Some years back the county conducted a survey in which the public was asked: What does your community need? Whatever happened to that survey?
I ask because the Middletown/Hidden Valley Lake area does not need another place to get Mexican food, a haircut, flowers, gifts, coffee or ice cream. All of these needs are well taken care of. The hardworking folks who have been in business for years have seen hard times before and have survived.
We need good shoes and office supplies.
