LOWER LAKE ? Lake County Fire Protection District (LCFPD) responded to a structure fire on Rocky Creek Road, about two miles north off of Morgan Valley Road, at approximately 6 p.m. on Friday. Suppression and mop-up efforts were complete within an hour and half.
According to Captain Bill Inman, who served as battalion chief on the incident, the hunting/vacation cabin was destroyed. He said the property owners were preparing the cabin for winter storage and claimed that the heater malfunctioned. Captain Inman said cause of the fire remains under investigation.
Calfire assisted in the effort providing one engine and two personnel. LCFPD led the effort with six personnel and one engine.
