LAKE COUNTY ? A collaborative effort between Lake County Publishing, the Lakeport Rotary Club, Brunos Shop Smart, Umpqua banks, Westamerica banks, Lake Family Resource Center and Lake County Community Action Agency provides Christmas baskets to those in need during the holidays in Lake County.
The Christmas Basket Program is in its 25th year. A total of 1,200 baskets will be distributed, 600 to the Northshore and 600 to the Southshore. Baskets are limited to one per physical address. Those signing up to receive baskets will be required to show proof of residence and photo identification. On the Northshore, applications will be taken at 4325 Main St. in Kelseyville beginning on Nov. 30 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Lake County Community Action Agency began sign-ups on Monday and will continue until Friday from 9 a.m. to noon and then 1 to 4 p.m. with the exception of Wednesday when the sign-ups will take place from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. at 15312 Lakeshore Dr. in Clearlake.
Anyone wishing to contribute to the Christmas basket program may bring or mail contributions in to any branch of Umpqua banks. Checks should be written out to Lake County Christmas Fund. Your donation and holiday message will be noted in both the Lake County Record-Bee as well as the Clear Lake Observer*American. Please look for the nutcracker symbol for information relating to the program.
