Why do people with small animals think it is permissible to put their small dogs in the seats of the shopping carts, especially at the markets, drug stores and the like, designed for children? I have had people in front of me in line tell the clerks “I take them everywhere with me.” These clerks are not impressed by those words.
These animals have their bare genitals, fur and skin exposed to surfaces where we put our food and children. Who knows if these animals have underlying conditions that could be harmful. You do not see un-diapered children sitting there.
These individuals need to know it is against the Lake County Health Department code to do this. Only service animals are permitted inside these facilities.
If there is any doubt, I suggest anyone interested call the Lake County Health Department.
