CLEARLAKE ?Investigation of a stabbing incident that occurred Friday led to the arrest of a Clearlake man. Joseph Dingess, 19, was booked into Lake County Jail early Saturday morning on charges of attempted murder.
According to the Clearlake Police Department (CPD), a sergeant was flagged down at Redbud Park at approximately 11:17 p.m. Friday where Dingess along with Ryan Dingess and a 17-year-old male were contacted. It was determined that the juvenile was the victim of several stab wounds to the chest and back.
The sergeant was allegedly told initially that the victim had been stabbed by three unknown subjects. However, detectives were summoned to assist with the investigation and it was later determined through interviews of Joseph and Ryan Dingess that Joseph Dingess was actually the person who had stabbed the victim. The stabbing allegedly occurred during a physical altercation at the victim”s house located on the 13000 block of Lakeshore Drive in Clearlake.
The victim was transported by air ambulance to UC Davis Medical Center. According to the CPD, the victim”s last known status was critical but stable.
