CLEARLAKE ? A Mazda sedan was sandwiched in a three vehicle collision that occurred on Olympic Drive at Old Highway 53 Wednesday afternoon. Three involved in the collision were transported to St. Helena Hospital Clearlake with complaints of pain. No other injuries were reported.
According to Clearlake Police Officer Carl Miller, the Mazda was stopped behind a Chevy van, which was attempting a left turn onto Old Highway 53, when it was rear ended by a Ford F150 pick up truck. Officer Miller said that the primary cause of the collision was following too closely. He said the secondary cause was driving too fast for conditions.
Lake County Fire Protection District medics responded to the scene and transported the victims to the hospital.
