CLEARLAKE OAKS ? Northshore Fire Protection District and California Highway Patrol Clear Lake area responded to single vehicle crash at about 1:50 a.m. Tuesday on Highway 20 near Pingree Road.
The vehicle”s single occupant required aerial transport due to injuries sustained in the crash.
According to NFPD Battalion Chief Pat Brown a full-size Ford F150 pickup truck crashed head-on with a large tree causing major damage to the vehicle and major injuries to the male driver, who CHP identified as Peter Sautos, 56, of Clearlake Oaks.
Brown said a landing zone was established at the Clearlake Oaks Boat Launch.
REACH 6 responded and transported Sautos to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital.
CHP Officer Jensen is investigating the crash and according to the CHP alcohol is suspected to be a factor.
