LAKE COUNTY ? A possible arson fire burned about five acres of tules about 5:15 p.m. Monday near Robinson Road Extension and Highway 29, fire staff reported.
Firefighters from the Northshore Fire Protection District, the Lakeport Fire Protection District and CAL FIRE put out the blaze by 6:50 p.m., said firefighter JD Flint of Northshore fire.
Flint said fire staff is still investigating the cause but because the fire was close to the road, fire officials think it could be arson.
A homeowner 300 yards from the blaze called 9-1-1 to report it, Flint said.
From the Northshore Fire Protection District, three engines, one water tank, one battalion chief and the fire chief responded, Flint said.
One engine from Lakeport Fire along with one engine and one battalion chief from CAL FIRE also responded to the wildland fire.
