I felt very privileged to witness the NCS playoff game held last Friday night in Middletown. I can”t remember a more classic example of high school sports.
Middletown, an obvious underdog, was outsized and out-skilled by the private high school from Dublin. In what could have been a very one-sided game, Middletown, time after time, rallied together; rising to play as well as was possible.
It truly was an example of team play. It reminded me of all that is good about high school sports. To the staff and players of the 2009 Middletown High School team, thank you for the memories.
