LAKEPORT ? Lakeport was awarded an $800,000 grant to fund first-time homebuyer and owner-occupied rehabilitation programs for low-income residents, the city representatives announced Tuesday.
The California Department of Housing and Community Development HOME Program also gave Lakeport the grant in 2007, the Lakeport Redevelopment Agency stated. The city has spent about $1 million on affordable housing projects in 2009. The city asks that interested general contractors call Trisha Franco at 263-8841 to bid on rehabilitation projects.
Low-income residents interested in the programs can call 263-8841 for information.
