A presidential ploy?

Regarding the highly-controversial issue of sending additional troops to Afghanistan and the cost of funding thereof, President Obama may be counting on a debate over the financial cost of furnishing those troops and the ongoing debate in Congress over funding a health care package. This could result in a major coup for the man who ran for office based on pro-health and pro-peace.
In view of the current poll results in our country toward a policy of more isolationism and solving our problems at home, the president”s request for additional troops and the funding therefore may be sacrificed in favor of the health care program that is so badly needed. Almost every major country in the world has better health care than the United States and none of those countries is offering a helping hand to pay either for the costs of our health care or that of the troops in the Middle East.
