UPPER LAKE — The annual Upper Lake Tournament for junior varsity and varsity boys” basketball teams tips off Thursday and runs through Saturday at the Upper Lake High School gym.

The event is a fundraiser for the Upper Lake High School boys” basketball program and for the first time in the tournament”s brief history a second Lake County team — Kelseyville — has been added to the four-team varsity and JV brackets. Anderson Valley and College Prep round out the brackets in both divisions.

“It”s a fundraiser, so hopefully Kelseyville will bring plenty of fans,” Upper Lake coach Forrest Stogner said.

Winners will be determined by round-robin format. Championship trophies and All-Tournament awards will be presented following the final game on Saturday.

In Thursday”s opening round, Upper Lake plays Anderson Valley and Kelseyville plays College Prep.

College Prep of Oakland is the defending champion in the varsity division.

The Kelseyville and Upper Lake varsity squads meet for the first time this season in Saturday”s final game.
