LOWER LAKE ?Barry Schrader, 47, of Clearlake required aerial transport Monday after crashing his motorcycle on Seigler Canyon Road. Schrader was flown from the scene via REACH air ambulance with major injuries sustained in the crash.

According to California Highway Patrol (CHP) Clear Lake area, at approximately 4:30 p.m. Schrader was rider in a 1997 Harley Davidson motorcycle eastbound on Seigler Canyon Road, about 3.5 miles west of Highway 29, when he rounded a corner too fast and failed to properly negotiate the curve. He traveled across the roadway and hit an upward dirt/rock embankment on the opposite side of the road, CHP said.

Lake County Fire Protection District responded with medical units. Schrader was stabilized and flown from the scene with complaints of pain to the back and shoulder.

Alcohol and/or drugs do not appear to be a factor accident, which remains under investigation.
