In the past weeks we have seen a number of letters and articles reminding us of the importance of shopping local in an effort to support the local economy.
The importance of keeping money circulating locally cannot be said often enough and should be carried one step further: Buy American!
The support of those folks who make USA-made products gives them the funds to buy our grapes, pears and wine and makes our country stronger.
I realize that in many cases one must expend a great deal of effort to find American made goods and that it is not always possible, but even a small purchase helps our economy.
Merchants might be persuaded to expend the effort to buy USA goods if more of us asked for them.
We are all interdependent for our mutual prosperity and in these tough times must come together to improve our weak economy.
Make an effort to buy locally and buy American!
