In a recent letter to our Supervisor, Denise Rushing, published in the Orchard Shores paper, The Chatter, the writer stated we have a cougar in Orchard Shores; maybe two of them.

They wanted to know what to do about the cougar. The answer we get is to be vigilant and wake up!

The article says the cat has been seen and reported several times and that it has killed sheep and some of the feral cats, as well as all the deer in the Orchard Shores neighborhood.

People of Orchard Shores are afraid to take their pets or themselves walking for exercise! Mostly elderly people live here and a mountain lion is a threat to them.

Whatever happened to Fish and Game? My suggestion is to tie a sheep to a walnut tree, climb into the tree and wait. If we have a cougar, it”ll come to a mutton steak dinner. Shoot it with a tranquilizer gun and relocate it or shoot it with a 12-gauge and bury it. Cougar be gone.
