CLEARLAKE OAKS ? A driver struck a woman walking a dog across Highway 20 about 5:25 p.m. Tuesday in front of the Red & White Store in Clearlake Oaks.
CHP did not release the victim”s or driver”s names.
The victim was transported to Sutter Lakeside Hospital to be flown out of county, CHP reported. Neither the victim”s, the dog”s nor the driver”s condition was not available from CHP at press time.
Crystal Wickard, an employee of the Red & White Store, said CHP did sobriety tests on the driver and let him go.
Wickard said Ronda Gullickson and Jonathan Miraville were walking across the street along with Miraville”s dog, possibly a Rottweiler, when the car “came out of nowhere” and hit Gullickson and the dog.
Gullickson was complaining of leg pain and was bleeding from the ears but she was talking, Wickard said. She thinks Miraville took the dog to the veterinarian possibly to get its leg amputated.
Another driver struck a female pedestrian just before midnight Monday on Main Street in Lakeport.
