LAKE COUNTY ? Videographers and newbies of all ages can compete in “We Love Tules” by making four-minute films with Clear Lake as the star.

Community organizations have set up the film festival that will be accepting entries until Jan. 27.

Cheri Holden, owner of Watershed Books, said the film could be anything from pictures of generations of a family by the lake, to animated fish jumping to birds in the county. Organizers will have a reception and announce the winners with cash awards about Jan. 30, Holden said. Winning films will also be shown at venues around the lake and will be posted on a number of Web sites.

Rules include: Clear Lake should be the star; films should be in the 2-minute to 4-minute range; applicants can be of any age; all genres including animation, documentary and drama are welcome; films should be appropriate for all audiences and two DVD copies must be submitted with the entry packet. The films must be turned in by 5:30 p.m. Jan. 27 at Watershed Books at 305 N. Main St. in Lakeport.

Information and entry packets are available at Watershed Books, Gracious Ladies at 9460 Main St. in Upper Lake, Wild About Books at 14290 Olympia Drive in Clearlake, and Lakeport City Hall at 225 Park St. in Lakeport.
