Cosmic justice?

Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, a known Muslim extremist, with the aid of his Al Qaeda buddies in Yemen, had explosives sewed in his skivvies at crotch level, then passed through at least two airport inspections and boarded a Northwest flight headed for Detroit. The explosive material, PETN, has been a favorite of terrorists for ages, and although non-metallic, is fairly easy to detect.

Located in the most vulnerable, fuel-loaded part of the airplane, the explosives should have brought it down, killing all on board, but instead of exploding, the PETN burst into flames that horribly burned the terrorist”s legs and destroyed his genitals. Somewhat distracted by this revolting event, in the absence of a marshal or a gun-toting pilot, he was subdued by other passengers and the plane landed safely.

Homeland Security boss, Janet Napolitano, one of Obama”s superstars, immediately declared that the system had worked as it was supposed to. The rest of the world immediately declared that Janet Napolitano was an idiot. Idiot or not, the following day she declared that the system had not worked after all.

Actually, Napolitano was right the first time. Although her system failed miserably, God”s system worked marvelously. Umar will share the remaining decades of his life in a cell with some sexually predatory men. Then he will finally arrive in heaven to collect his seventy-two virgins. But he will have no working genitals.
