I have to say as I sit here comfortably in my living room/office in Cobb, I have the utmost confidence in our Sheriff Rod Mitchell. I don”t care what many of you have said about him this past year ? I just know that when I personally had a crisis recently, Sheriff Mitchell was right there on the telephone addressing my concerns.
Earlier that day, I had been to his office and was told that the Lake County Sheriff”s Office cannot serve a San Quentin inmate with a temporary restraining order ? I must go through the Marin County Sheriff”s Office. When I called Sheriff Mitchell later that afternoon, distressed, appalled and fearful, he assured me the man I needed to contact was Lt. Eric Messig, prison liaison at Marin County Sheriff”s Office. Lt. Messig returned my call first thing Monday morning and called again later that afternoon to assure me he personally had served the inmate who was out on early release.
Again, Sheriff Mitchell, you have got my vote in the upcoming election and I hope I have inspired many Lake County citizens out there to do the same.
