MIDDLETOWN ? Extrication efforts ensued following a traffic collision involving two vehicles on New Year”s Day in the Middletown area.
California Highway Patrol Clear Lake area said the collision occurred after one driver failed to stop at a posted stop sign.
According to the CHP, at approximately 5 p.m. Jan. 1 Kathleen Noble, 43, of Middletown was traveling southbound on Highway 29 in a Saturn Vue. She was approaching Dry Creek Cut Off.
Kathleen Gregory, 51, of Middletown was driving a 1989 Acura Legend eastbound on Dry Creek Cut Off approaching the stop sign at Highway 29. Gregory allegedly failed to stop at the posted stop sign and moved forward onto Highway 29 directly in front of Noble”s vehicle.
CHP said the front of the Saturn struck the left side of the Acura, leaving the roadway partially blocked.
Extrication operations were required in order to remove Gregory from her vehicle. She was transported via ambulance to St. Helena Hospital Clearlake where she was transferred via REACH air ambulance to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital for injuries sustained in the crash.
Officer M. Barnes is investigating the collision.
