UPDATED:

I got a bit stirred up when I saw that Silk was being restricted in its ability to control its own hours. Mr. Williams has been a good businessman for the city of Clearlake for several years. The town needs another breakfast place badly. It need somewhere for adults to go for entertainment. Somewhere with room to dance and meet people. A bar with more than sitting and drinking as something to do there.

In today”s paper we have an piece from a one-sided viewer. I do not see an NAACP position in this at all. The city has been down on entertainment for several years. The last few places that opened have been closed quickly or restricted until they could not operate.

I grew up in Greensboro, Alabama, and while it has suffered and still does over its past race divide is some ways has made larger strides at removing the race question from the local politics. Until we the people quit using difference in genetics as a reason to point fingers we will never be one population.

Myself I would like to know who out side the police department reviewed what was sent to the ABC about the problems at that location. A building is not a business much less one that has been closed as long as that one was.

I cannot imagine a better location in the city limits. Room for the drunks to sleep it off in the parking lot if they could not get a ride home. A place that has few places to get away if there is a problem.

An owner who appears to want to take care of his customers

Lake County claims it wants tourism. Clearlake the City mouths this also. Yet over and over they do things that keep the bad reputation it has intact. Remember the Blue Heron Run for motorcyclist and the nutty behavior of the city police and promoters of that.

In the six years since I bought my home . I have seen no improvements only milking and mismanagement. Clearlake is a town of low income average many of them just because that is where life has brought them. Lots of reasons for that including retirement and inflation.

From where I sit it looks like the city wants to make its income off building more houses, but houses alone will not bring new money in the long run. People will see that there is nothing but the house and leave.

City management should build a town that locals can afford to enjoy. That will get goods moving through the county. Outsiders will come through and say I had a good time .

If the City can show no pride of ownership how can you expect the people who live here to show it.
