Would you feed your child GMOs? Your answer is yes if you don”t follow this advice.

Approaching the end of its long string of meetings to come up with recommendations to the county supervisors for regulating GMOs in the county, the advisory committee will hold one of its last meetings this Monday at 5:30 p.m. in the Board of Supervisors chambers in the courthouse at 225 North Forbes Street in Lakeport. If you care at all about your family”s health or the future of Lake County, you should be there.

For those not up to speed on this issue, a quick review. The food you eat is a primary factor in determining your present and future health. That is why you should care that it is nutritious and healthful in every way. If not for yourself, at least you should care for your kids. They depend on you to choose their food, and of course watch your example in everything. GMO food is produced using artificial genetic changes that have been shown to be extremely damaging, sometimes deadly, in test animals. There is no reason that they should ever be produced, other than the fact that they can be patented and produce a lot of power and money for their owners; companies like Monsanto, their subsidiaries and others. They profit; you and your family lose.

Companies pushing GMO crops and foods have paid huge sums of money to come out with scientific studies that supposedly show GMO foods are safe. But there are massive flaws in the data from these studies, which the average person does not have the time or expertise to detect. Most people tend to have automatic reverence to some degree for university or private company researchers with impressive degrees. But respect should be earned by integrity and actions, not credentials.

Wisdom, a commodity almost entirely forgotten in modern society, is not born of credentials or quote other people”s published opinions. It comes much more from a conscious connection to the source of life, and in this case to nature. When nature is abused, life suffers. GMOs are the organized desecration of nature, and indirectly of human and animal health. I do not say this lightly, having full access to a host of scientific literature that would disagree. Remember that many of the horrors we now have to deal with in this world were developed by science. Only when combined with wisdom can science be trusted to produce healthy results. When combined with greed and corruption instead, science produces horrors such as GMO crops and foods.

Instead of developing our innate wisdom, modern education teaches us to quote others (“peer-reviewed studies,” etc.), to make sure the status quo continues. If the advisory committee had included members with wisdom, they would have had one meeting only, and recommended the permanent ban of GMOs in Lake County, and the removal of those already inside. They need to hear from you. If you understand how critical it is to keep these monstrosities out of the county and off your dinner table, be at the meeting. And before you go, do your homework, please read, in detail with all the links, the article by biochemist Byron Richards, posted at http://www.newswithviews.com/Richards/byron189.htm.
