CLEARLAKE ? Clearlake Police recovered two stolen vehicles in two separate incidents on Sunday. The first vehicle was reported stolen by Winding Roads Motors car dealership in December. The other vehicle recovered was a U-haul truck reported stolen out of Oregon.
Catherine Robinson, 56, who claimed no city of residence, was arrested for possession of stolen property in connection to the stolen U-haul.
According to Clearlake Police Sgt. Craig Clausen, Officer Todd Miller encountered the 1998 Acura RL reported stolen by Winding Roads Motors in the area of 39th and Oak avenues. The vehicle was unoccupied and appeared to be abandoned.
“I”m so happy. It started and we were able to drive it back to the lot,” Carl Colen, Winding Roads Motors owner said. “The Clearlake Police Department did a good job.”
The Acura RL recovered Sunday was second of two vehicles stolen from the car dealership in mid-December. The other vehicle, a 2002 Mitsubishi Eclipse, was recovered in on Dec. 30.
Sgt. Clausen said an officer was on regular patrol when he spotted a suspicious vehicle behind Ray”s Food Place. The officer discovered that the U-haul, with Arizona plates, was reported stolen out of Linn County Sheriff”s Office in Oregon.
Robinson was taken into custody for possession of stolen property and the three canines located in kennels inside the U-haul were seized and transported to Lake County Animal Control in Lakeport.
