Yesterday I was discussing the closure of Konocti Harbor Inn with my wife. We question why it really had to close. I know some of the particulars but I do not want to get into some of those issues. What is important is that our economy has been affected in more ways than one; mostly jobs! I have been coming to this beautiful lake for years and that is why I am here now. My family and I spent many weekends at Konocti, went to concerts, had dinner and the like. The bottom line is money!

What I think bothers me the most is that the casino resorts are thriving because they are allowed gambling permits for their establishments. The County of Lake and Kelseyville should have done everything possible to keep Konocti open. If Konocti would just have had a card club, it probably would not have closed. It would have drawn tourists for gambling, entertainment, boating and just about anything that Konocti had to offer.

Putting it plain and simple; this is unfair to the community of Kelseyville and to have such a beautiful place close down is just most unfortunate.
