RENO NEVADA — Former Lake County resident and 1992 graduate of Lower Lake High School, Bryan Scobey, was located and taken into custody in Nevada. Scobey was reported missing from Sonoma County on Jan. 13.

Scobey was reported missing after failing to return to his place of employment”s operation office at the end of the work day on Jan. 13. Scobey disappeared along with the work vehicle he was driving.

According to Sonoma County Sheriff Sgt. Tim Duke, investigative leads took detectives to the city of Yreka in Siskiyou County. While in Yreka, Scobey is alleged to have sold tools and other items off the company vehicle belonging to The Hitmen Termite and Pest Control. He also allegedly befriended an unwitting subject to drive him to Reno, NV. in exchange for the company truck.

Scobey was taken off the missing persons” list and detectives continued to search for him with a warrant for his arrest issued for embezzlement of the company truck and other items he allegedly sold without permission. Sgt. Duke said that the company vehicle was returned to Scobey”s employer as were the tools and other items that were allegedly sold or bartered.

According to Washoe County Sheriff Public Information Officer Brooke Keast, Scobey was arrested at approximately 8:10 a.m. Feb. 3 by Reno Police Department authorities. He was arrested on a fugitive from justice warrant issued out of Sonoma County. He is currently being held in Washoe County Detention Center with bail set at $25,000.
