One of the nicest things about living in Upper Lake is that everything is in walking distance, especially the schools! However, my children told me that an elderly woman who lives on First Street has been yelling at them and at one point chased them into the street for walking too close to her house or as I like to call it the “sidewalk” area and now she”s there waiting for them.

I really thought they were just exaggerating, they”re not! Yesterday I picked them up early as they walked home. I pulled into a driveway to make a quick three-point turn around to get them and then head out of town. Just as they had described, an old lady was watching them. To my surprise this woman went ballistic, she was screaming at us to get off her driveway, and away from her house.

My children were so scared of this woman and now I can see why. Now I can”t allow my children to walk home for fear of this woman! So parents if your child comes home with a story about a scary old lady, it”s probably true!
