UPDATED:

In mid-November the Lake County officials closed escrow on the purchase of more than 1,500 acres of property on the very top of beautiful Mount Konocti for the purpose of developing a public day use park.

The county has invited equestrian and non-motorized mountain bike groups to meet with the county Master Management Plan Committee for consideration as park users. The committee members will also take under consideration whether leashed dogs will be allowed on the mountain. We should not leave this decision 100 percent up to the Lake County Board of Supervisors and Master Management Planning Committee to decide this issue, without any dog organization representation inputs.

We need to unite and be represented as a group and express our desires to the county so that we can walk our leashed dogs in this new public park on top of beautiful Mount Konocti and also enjoy the spectacular views.

Since animals don”t speak our language to represent themselves, we must represent them by talking for them. Again remember, we as dog owners are also part of the public and we should be able to enjoy this public park with our leashed dogs and enjoy its beautiful views just as other public groups will.

Our leashed dogs should not be banned from this public park. Since our dogs are a valued member of the family. Let”s talk for them.

Please help me make up a petition on this issue, to present to the Lake County officials.

Also remember to always pick up after your dog; it helps better our dog image to the public and also for obtaining better dog rights and privileges. If you are interested in helping or signing, contact me at 707-583-6808 or kikbklove@att.net.
