LAKE COUNTY — An effort has begun to raise funds to assist a Lake County family who lost a soldier last week in a bombing in Pakistan.
Sgt. 1st Class David J. Hartman, 27, died in Pakistan on Feb. 3 when his unit was hit by an improvised explosive device (IED).
He leaves behind his pregnant wife and a toddler son. Many of Hartman”s family members, including his father, stepmother, sister and grandparents live in Kelseyville.
A memorial service for Hartman is planned for this weekend in Los Banos.
