LAKE COUNTY ? Nominations for the 13th annual Stars of Lake County community awards are being received through the Web site, www.lakecochamber.com. They may also be submitted in standard written form or sent to ceo@lakecochamber.com or dropped off at the Chamber office at 875 Lakeport Blvd. in Lakeport at Vista Point. To date the nominees are: Peggy Alexander of Clearlake for volunteer youth advocate of the year, Soroptimist International of Clear Lake for volunteer organization of the year, Lulu”s Ice Cream of Kelseyville for new business of the year, Lake County Community Radio for volunteer organization of the year, Andy Weiss of Lakeport for man of the year, Featherbed Railroad B&B in Nice for small business of the year, Denise Johnson of Kelseyville for volunteer of the year and Yerba Santa Goat Dairy in Lakeport for the agriculture award. The nomination deadline is March 12 by 5 p.m. at the end of the business day. Any mailed nominations postmarked by that date will be accepted. It is through nominations that the people, businesses and organizations can be recognized. Write a nomination for the 13th annual community awards program.
Stars of Lake County will be held on April 10 at Robinson Rancheria Resort & Casino in Nice. Tickets will be available to all nominees beginning Feb. 26 and ticket sales to the general public will begin on March 19.
