How about a comparison?

I have a question, rather than a comment regarding the disadvantages of allowing Lowe”s to bring a store into the county. The folks objecting to Lowe”s usually include “low wages” as part of their objection. Phyllis Murphey”s Feb. 25 letter, for example, includes the argument ” … provides low wage jobs which have to be subsidized with public benefits …” This assertion begs the question; has anyone done a comparison of local wage and benefits packages with Lowe”s wage and benefit packages for comparable positions to back that up?
