UPPER LAKE — An Upper Lake man found human remains while he was hiking Feb. 3 near Clover Valley Road in Upper Lake.
The Lake County Sheriff”s Office Major Crimes Unit put together a small team who hiked through rough terrain and found some bones at the bottom of a steep rise, said Capt. Jim Bauman of the LCSO.
The Sheriff”s Office thinks the bones are human, but they were only partial remains, Bauman said. The team also found a shirt and one shoe in the area, both of which appear to belong to an adult male.
Officers are unsure how long the bones had been there, but will do a forensic exam to learn more, Bauman said.
The Sheriff”s Office has no pending missing person cases for the area.
