KELSEYVILLE — A man walked into the Kelseyville Pharmacy about 9:25 a.m. Saturday on Main Street, brandished a kitchen knife and demanded OxyContin from an employee he cornered.

After the employee gave the man several bottles of the narcotic painkiller and started searching for more, the man fled before the Lake County Sheriff”s Office arrived about five minutes later, Capt. Jim Bauman of LCSO said.

The woman was unharmed, Bauman said.

When the man walked in the door and brandished the knife, two pharmacy employees were able to run out the back door to the parking lot, Bauman said. After the man got the drugs he ran toward the Main Street bridge spanning Kelsey Creek.

Deputies searched the area for a few hours but couldn”t find the suspect, Bauman said.

Witnesses described the suspect as a white male adult, unknown age, at least 6 feet tall, weighing 170 to 220 pounds, and wearing white or gray sweatpants, a gray hooded sweatshirt, a black puffy jacket over the sweatshirt, and a red bandana over his face, Bauman said.

The Sheriff”s Major Crimes Unit asks anyone with information on the robbery suspect or the incident to call them at 262-4200.
