OMAHA — San Francisco State University senior Steve Franklin, a 2006 Middletown High School graduate, went 2-1 on Friday during the early rounds of the NCAA Division II Wrestling Championships at the University of Nebraska-Omaha.
Competing in the 285-pound or heavyweight division, Franklin defeated Tim Johnson of Minnesota State-Mankato 9-4 in a first-round match. He then lost to Elijah Madison of the University of Nebraska-Omaha 7-1.
