The Board of Supervisors for the County of Lake is a large responsibility. As a candidate for this office Joyce Overton has the capability and knowledge to perform the duties. She understands the challenges that we face regarding our environment, resources, businesses, and economic downturn. Our county needs a new voice in leadership, someone who can make a difference in bringing natural resources, new technology, and address the ongoing problems concerning our lake that will benefit all citizens of Lake County.
Keeping the community informed has always been in the forefront of her decision making. She has held several town hall meetings to make sure the people of Lake County are made aware of and have a say in the decision making regarding events that involve their quality of life. Because of these town hall meetings the county received $100,000 to make our lake a cleaner environment to swim, fish and play in.
Working with the community leaders of Lake County and other organizations makes her a key player in being involved on a day to day basis of important matters.
Her credentials are: founding member of the Clearlake Youth Center, board member for the Safe House for Youth Committee, president ? Redwood Empire Regional Board, board member of the California league of Cities, board member ? Clean Water Advisory Committee, board member ? Lake County Special District, board member ? Lake County Community Action Agency and board chair ? PEG Channel, board member of the Clear Lake Advisory Committee.
She is serving her second term as council member in the city of Clearlake.
She has demonstrated that she can make sound intelligent and fiscally responsible decisions with regard to community matters.
It has been a great pleasure to have had the opportunity to serve the city of Clearlake residents and Joyce is looking forward to continue her work at the county level as your District N0. 2 Supervisor.
