is needed
Lowell Grant”s March 17 “Alternate Current” comments needed some direct current applied. As usual Grant starts out with reasonable statements on subjects then digresses to criticisms of opposing views/truths/facts.
His so-called factual opinions of others seem to end up as if they are his own to some readers. This day he challenges anyone to produce an economic way to stimulate the economy other than the three he stated while mentioning somewhat back-handedly in his first paragraph another (keeping jobs in the USA)!
Grant seems to lack an understanding that facts using numbers/statements of others do have two sides. Just look at past Vice President Gore and his facts on global warming. Having served on congressional, vice presidential, Secretary of Defense, NASA, and military committees or as a commanding officer, large ship driver or even a real estate broker does not qualify me to select which side of a truth is absolutely the correct truth. That is why these are printed as opinions!
Mr. Grant”s aside comments about D.M. Farris (five times) indicated he really does not like to be challenged about his opinions being other than Godly. In other words, only his selections of the truth are without challenge. As a real estate broker, Grant, with computer, telephone book, his golden pen and Obama”s smoke and mirrors along with the flip-flop, should know who D.M. Farris is! Accusing my wife as a possible originator of my letters is revealing that some of his collected data may lack deep research as to opposing truths!
Further, some who have read Grant”s printed material understand that he used BO to describe the president. My use of the BO just followed Grant”s own usage with no relationship to smell. Guess his golden pen slipped again.
My dad did not abandon me like President Obama”s, but as the child of the big Depression, I struggled to receive a good education and what I think is a high rank in our Navy. He might have seen me at one of 538 military honor team funerals I participated in. My opinions published in the Record-Bee, of which Grant may have been mentioned, were to encourage him to use his golden pen and excellent command of the English language to present ways we can better retain our high standards without criticizing only opposing views like calling five Supreme Court members “activists” or stating President Obama is being a “victim of the right wing.”
I seem to recall our new president had some trouble in pinning the American Flag pin to his lapel and kept company with a large number of those who did not think well of our government, and also stated a strong desire to change our nation.
As a Democrat I value the right to have an opinion other than that of the new lock-step Democratic Party. For the sake of our country Grant should get down from his Democratic Party”s jackass, turn around and get back on facing forward and truly support the man and woman in the street with programs we can afford. Flag still at half mast!
D.M. Farris
